All recipes use a 12-inch dutch oven, unless specified.
If you have a 10-inch dutch oven, use about 2/3 to 3/4 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If you have an 8-inch dutch oven, use about 1/2 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If no temperature is listed, use 350 degrees.
See Heat Settings page for temperature and coal placement
for Frying, Stewing, Roasting, Baking, and Simmering.

I am so glad this website still exists. I used
to use recipes from here all the time when I
would go camping as a boy scout. We would make
the good bars recipe and not wait long enough
for it to cool before digging in, so we would
affectionately call it good glop. Some of my
favorite camping memories are a result of the
recipes on this site. Thank you for keeping
this going, I hope people continue to use the
recipes here for years to come.
