Cooked Apples Dutch Oven Recipe
Ingredients:
8 apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
4 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions:
Heat dutch oven to 300 degrees for Baking.
Core apples and cut into quarters.
Dump all ingredients into dutch oven and stir until butter is melted and all is mixed.
Cover and Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are soft and sauce is clear and thick.

If you have a 10-inch dutch oven, use about 2/3 to 3/4 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If you have an 8-inch dutch oven, use about 1/2 of the ingredient amounts but keep the temperature and time about the same.
If no temperature is listed, use 350 degrees.

I have a 12" skillet and tinfoil for a cover is this ok
Nov 10, 2015 - Dutch Oven Dude@Dee - That might work ok for this recipe, but with all the heat under the skillet, it may burn. A piece of tinfoil will not hold in heat and moisture as is usually needed for D.O. cooking, and you can not place coals on top of it.
